Vocal ( vaayipattu)

Violin-Carnatic

Carnatic violin closely imitates the human voice. Hence there is a lot of ornamentation. Indians play sitting cross legged on the floor. The instrument pointing to the ground with scroll resting on the ankle of the right foot. In Indian system of music the four strings are tuned to Pa(lower), Sa(lower), Pa & Sa taking a single note as base note from where a raga has to be played

Violin-western

The western style focuses more on patterns in terms of timing. Also in this style of violin tuning the four strings are tuned to standard notes E A D & G and the the violin is played while standing.

Keyboard

A musical keyboard is the set of adjacent depressible levers or keys on a musical instrument. Keyboards typically contain keys for playing the twelve notes of the Western musical scale, with a combination of larger, longer keys and smaller, shorter keys that repeats at the interval of an octave.

Guitar

The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that usually has six strings. It is typically played with both hands by strumming or plucking the strings with either a guitar pick or the fingers/fingernails of one hand, while simultaneously fretting (pressing the strings against the frets) with the fingers of the other hand.

Thabala

The tabla is a pair of twin hand drums from the Indian subcontinent, which has been the principal percussion instrument in Hindustani classical music, where it may be played solo, as accompaniment with other instrument and vocals, and as a part of larger ensembles.

Drums

Drum, musical instrument, the sound of which is produced by the vibration of a stretched membrane (it is thus classified as a membranophone within the larger category of percussion instruments). Basically, a drum is either a tube or a bowl of wood, metal, or pottery (the “shell”) covered at one or both ends by a membrane (the “head”), which is usually struck by a hand or stick.

Congo Drums

The conga, also known as tumbadora, is a tall, narrow, single-headed drum from Cuba.

Flute

Flute is an aerophone or reedless wind instrument that produces its sound from the flow of air across an opening.

Mridangam

The mridangam is a percussion instrument of ancient origin. It is the primary rhythmic accompaniment in a Carnatic music ensemble, and in Dhrupad, where the same instrument is referred to as pakhawaj. A related instrument is the Kendang, played in Maritime Southeast Asia.

Bharatanatyam

Bharatanatyam is the oldest classical dance tradition of India Theoretical foundations of the Indian classical dance laid out in Natya Shastra can be traced to various ancient art forms including Bharatanatyam.

Mohiniyattam

Mohiniyattam, is one of the famous classical dances of India that developed and remained popular in the state of Kerala, which follows the Lasya style described in Natya Shastra, that is a dance which is delicate, eros-filled and feminine.

Kuchipudi

Kuchipudi is a dance-drama performance, with its roots in the ancient Hindu Sanskrit text of Natya Shastra. It developed as a religious art linked to traveling bards, temples and spiritual beliefs, like all major classical dances of India.

Nadodinirtham

A folk dance form of Kerala, is a representation of Social, cultral and traditional life of Kerala.
